Hello and welcome to the crazy world of my brain.
Follow me if you like the way I think. ;) (that sounded sleazy, wasn't meant to be and I will just shut up now)

Ballet crap... aka a set of links that I don't want to lose and will probably procrastinate on later D:

Alright, confession.
So I haven't been compleeeeeetely devoted to my studies. Well, my school ones, anyway.

I have spent the last few weeks trying to find the origins of the RAD intermediate syllabus music.... which I stilll haven't found D:
But in the process, I found all this that I have been emotionally attached to but had no idea where it all came from.
Basically this entry is all mental notes of crap I have to rewatch in the future lol. XD
Thing about a majority of ballets is.... most of them have some INCREDIBLE variations... then the rest is kind of mediocre. hehehe XD In my opinion, of course. R&J is an exception though.

First ever ballet concert dance: Nutcracker overture.

First pointe troupe (2009) - extracts from Don Quixote (which, come to think of it, explained the gorgeous costuming)

(Svetlana's first solo)

Here is a favour to all you ballet-deprived - the two great dancers of the ballet world

Which leads me to the fact that I discovered that most of the grade 7 RAD music is from les sylphides! But lol, i already knew that, I just didn't think to look it up.
A little fact: les sylphides is from the romantic period of ballet (lol who knows what date), which is why the tutus are long and romantic-style rather than the pancake ones that you see everywhere now :P

And grade 6.... much it is from raymonda, which is also a beautiful ballet. :)

Also, from 2:50 - my favourite part of R&J :)
But my other favourite piece from R&J is the dance of the knights...

La bayadere - my all time favourite ballerina, polina semionova does this like no other! Nikiya's variation
And the princess gamzatti, of course.

Some contemporary ballet:

(mainly just because I like the music)
