Three years ago, in classtime, that smart kid beat the not-so-smart kid every time but when they went outside to have lunch, the not-so-smart kid won. Everyone lived in the same dog-eat-dog world where intellectual capacity didn't matter in the game of life.
Now,
I see the difference.
I see people who feel inferior because they are handicapped by their limited vocab.
I see people who dropped out of school a year ago and already I can tell that from just the way they text me.
I see people who try in school use 'big words' naturally.
I've grown up seeing my parents struggle to communicate in English.
I've grown to understand that... As sad as it is, my parents don't have as great an ability to store information in their heads, like using computers. ;)
We're coming to that stage in our lives when we realise, this isn't about high school popularity and who did what anymore.
It's about how much information you retain and that's what's going to get you earning high incomes.
Me, i dont particularly want to be rich and working in a law firm with a hot protective boyfriend wearing expensive suits and dining in finery every night.
That would never be the life for me.
However, I know that somehow, I'd want to meet someone in university with similar goals, similar interests and compassion and consideration.
Where the hell is this entry going?
Sorry, back to the point;
After 10 years of schooling and in these 10 years, being trained to run the marathon towards being anything you want to be, I don't understand why anyone would drop out.
True, it may be the life for some. If you dream big and push yourself towards your goals with extreme dedication, there could be a chance you could ''make it'' in the world without tafe or university.
But if you've dropped out of school in the first place, it does kind of show... That you can't really dedicate yourself.
In a perfect world, people would judge by what's inside of you. However, in the world of work, they take intellectual capability as an indication of how well you can work.
Anyway, I should stop ratting on about dropping out of school and actually get some sleep so I can study tomorrow. So I don't end up on the street.
