Well,
I've decided
that I don't want bright lights over my head as I sit my year 12 exams.
The less pressure there is, the better off I'll be.
I don't think I'm going to tell anyone my ATAR.
That doesn't necessarily mean that I am ashamed of it,
Or too brilliant to reveal to the world ;D
It just means that I don't want to be compared against every other lankan in the country in terms of intelligence.
I do VCE for me, not for the other people anticipating my results.
My aim is to get into a Clinical Prosthetics and Orthotics course.
Right there, I am rebelling against society haahhaa ;)
Everyone wants to be doctors and lawyers and engineers,
But I've chosen the career that suits me, regardless of what others want to do.
Eeeh, do you feel pressure?
Oh yes, I feel it creeping up my back and into my brain and I don't want it to hinder my academic ability.
Which is why things are simpler this way.
My mum has been instructed to tell no one of what's going on with my schooling. :D I know she'll follow through with this.
We're reaching the umm.. "Business" end of things. o.O
And we can't afford to let stress get to us.
And I can't afford to have curious curries monitoring my intellectual rigor.
Because I know it might affect me. :)
Well, unless you happen to be Buttersnap or LVC. You guys are cool, you can ask me anything about VCE anytime you like :P
Anyways we're about 28% of the way through our VCE, guys! Only 72% to go. ;)

ReplyDeleteI know, my mums a looooot better than most sri lankan mums in terms of pressure hahaha! I guess she knows i pressure myself so much that she doesn't even have to bother trying to xD
ReplyDeleteIm sure your mum isn't too bad but i understand what curries are like when it comes to proving their rep and their success as a mother to everyone. As if our. Academic success defines their parenting success! The world is harsh :)
